Hunger Coalition of Transylvania County

Food insecurity is a harsh reality faced by many individuals residing in Transylvania County. In response to this pressing issue, several pantries have been established throughout the county to offer periodic food distributions to those who can access them. The Hunger Coalition of Transylvania County (HCTC) aims to work in conjunction with these pantries by providing them with additional essential items, fresh produce, and other goods. Additionally, HCTC strives to bridge the gap in areas where pantries are not available by organizing additional food distributions .As part of their regular monthly activities, the Hunger Coalition holds “pop-up” markets at Davidson River School and Rosman Town Hall on the first and second Thursdays, respectively. Moreover, on every second Friday, they diligently deliver staple food items and fresh produce to eight pantries scattered across Transylvania County. Through these efforts, the Hunger Coalition of Transylvania County is committed to making a meaningful impact on food insecurity within the community.
