Volunteer Spotlight – January 2022

Frank Stark

Frank Stark and Susan, his wife live on Lake Toxaway as frequent part-time residents and live in Roswell, Georgia.  Frank wears many volunteer hats.  He is a Habitat for Humanity volunteer where he helps on the build sites here in Rosman and other parts of Transylvania County.  He assists future home owners and other volunteers in various parts of the construction phases.  He actively volunteered to meet with the electric company and others when inspections were needed at Gods Way Food Pantry on multiple occasions during 2021.  He gave sound structural and electrical advice to much needed improvements and he is a key asset in overseeing the upgrades and improvements.  Frank also volunteers and even brought his son and daughter-in-law to Gods Way Food Pantry to help sort and distribute food to those in need in the Balsam Grove area.

Frank has helped the LT Community Center for the last 2 years on the renovation and construction of their kitchen and banquet building including scope, project management, and design recommendations.  He has also been a key volunteer to the LTC grant committee and often goes on site tours, reviews the grant applications and is able to represent the agencies he has researched.  Frank gets involved however he can to make our county all the better.  One recent example as he has been a tremendous help with the new construction of the Isaac Holmes Rosman Homeless Youth Center to open in the Spring of 2022.

Just this year, Frank has joined the Grant Committee as a Co-Chair with Carroll Summerour.  This winter, Frank helped with other LTC volunteers put positive yard signs along the bus routes just before the Christmas break to let our students know they loved, supported and important.  Frank, thank you for lending your time and expertise to not only LTC but to many agencies we fund.
