Dear Lake Toxaway Friends and Neighbors,
The 4th annual Angel Giving Tree project sponsored by The Greystone Inn with the support of Lake Toxaway Charities has again joined with a local food bank and the four Rosman schools to provide gifts and food for over 150 pre-qualified school children, their families and 30 selected area seniors. This year has continued to be a difficult time for our vulnerable neighbors struggling to provide basic necessities for their families. You can put a smile on their faces during the holidays with your generosity!
Your tax-deductible donation of $250 sponsors a student and his/her family. This provides new clothing for each child, a Christmas stocking filled with needed items such as soap and toothpaste and a wrapped gift from Santa. The family gets a large food box. If there are other children in the student’s family, they will also receive gifts. School teachers and guidance counselors will shop, wrap and deliver the gifts. The schools ensure there are no duplications.
Seniors receive a large food box containing a Christmas ham and gifts suited to their needs, such as blankets, firewood or gas cards to get to medical appointments through your $250 donation. They live in very rural areas of our county.
Ornaments representing each student and needy senior will decorate the special Christmas tree in the living room of The Greystone Inn. You may choose the age of your ’angel’ which ranges from 4 to 18 for students or select a senior. You are invited to join us at the Angel Tree lighting event December 16 at 5:00 p.m. at The Greystone Inn.
If you would like to participate in this special project, you may “shop” using The Greystone Inn’s convenient website entitled “Sponsor an Angel” at greystoneinn.com. Or, mail your donation to Lake Toxaway Charities, P.O. Box 163, Lake Toxaway, NC 28747. Please note the age and gender of the student(s) you wish to adopt if you have a preference. If you prefer to sponsor a senior, please indicate so.
Thank you on behalf of all the ‘angels’ in our community. If you have questions, please call Sherry Minnich, 912-269-6508 or Paulette Todd, 828-966-4700. May you and your family have a very joyous holiday season!
