Passport to Adventure
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Cheers to a very successful Sports Day and Dinner Dance Gala, Passport to Adventure! Lake Toxaway residents came out with boundless enthusiasm to support our neighbors in need, raising an astonishing $720,000 in donations! This number represents a 35% increase over 2020’s donations, our previous record.
The sports portion of the day was also an incredible success with a record number of residents and their guests participating in croquet, golf, tennis and pickleball. Congratulations to all who played for the Charities, giving their time, energy and donations to the event!
Special recognition goes to Jean Merritt, who deftly handled the table requests and seating arrangements, Jeanette and Hank Schuyler for their transformative and creative gala decorations, Steve Sloan who created a moving video of the day’s events, Katy Perry with Ascendant Imaging for her beautiful videography and photography, guest speaker Will Boyd, a graduate of Rise and Shine, and the Lake Toxaway Country Club and its staff for preparations to host this annual event, highlighting Will Bartram and Kenny Lovett, Chef Jason Neal and his staff, Carol Ann Stixrud and Brent Hayes and the dining room staff, Megan Mills, Leigh Coggins, Laura Johnson, John Schoenbeck and the invaluable front desk staff who answered the constantly ringing phones. Our annual event truly takes a village; over 100 volunteers worked tirelessly to make the day run smoothly.
Most of all, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our residents who embrace our culture of care and concern and continue to amaze us with gifts of time and resources. With your generous sponsorship, contributions, attendance, and participation in this endeavor, Lake Toxaway Charities is able to reach deeply into Transylvania County with generous assistance; we thank you.
