Hunger Coalition of Transylvania County

“The Hunger Coalition of Transylvania County provides services that strengthen and enhance existing county food pantries.  It empowers the recipients to be healthier and more self-reliant by distributing fresh produce and other staples to pantries in the county once a month and hosting a bi-monthly mobile market where families and individuals in need can pick out fresh produce and other staples at no cost to them.  Lake Toxaway Charities through its funding to The Hunger Coalition has helped pay for nutrition education programs, the purchase of a distribution truck and fresh produce from area farmers.”
